My husband and I worked with Suyin for about 3 weeks to help our 10 month old son establish independent sleep and a healthy schedule. She listened well to the needs and concerns of our family, and when she provided a detailed action plan, she made sure that we were in agreement with all of it before starting. When sleep work proved to be difficult, Suyin was always respectful, responsive, emotionally supportive and praised the progress we had made, which was so important because we weren’t so sure if we were even making progress. Even though there are still many kinks to work out with our son’s sleep, the work we did with Suyin was a game changer – all of us are getting more sleep!
As an aspiring doula I took my time doing my “future trainer” search. There are so many organizations and trainers out there that you could get so overwhelmed!. During my research, one experience doula told me “contact Suyin Jordan” , so I did. After a couple of minutes talking on the phone with her I felt an special connection. She was so approachable, knowledgeable but very humble at the same time. After I hanged up I said to myself “this is my postpartum doula trainer” I have no doubt about it!! (On a side note, she was the ONLY ONE that took time and interest to talk to me over the phone). After taking the training with her almost 6 months ago Iam working as a pp doula and I cannot feel happier. I heard some stories about doulas finishing their training and asking themselves “well now what do I do ? Where do I start? With Suyin I never had that problem , she guides you all the step of the way, she is your mentor, works with you, keeps training you, she answers all your questions, she calms down your anxiety when starting with your first families. She is always there when you need her and she is happy to share what she knows. What else can I say? She is the real deal. Suyin loves what she does and backs up everything she says with a wealth of knowledge she acquired over the years as a midwife and a nurse and of course her personal experience. I cannot recommend her enough. If you are looking for a doula trainer do not look anywhere else Suyin is the one.!!! Andrea L
