We can’t say enough good things about Suyin’s services! Suyin was our birth doula and post partum doula, but even before the baby was born, she was so caring! She educated and comforted us throughout a complicated pregnancy. She was there for us ALWAYS. She even checked in on us after an appointment even though she was on vacation! The information that was provided during the prenatal visits was so useful and it really helped to guide our decisions for our birth plan and also during the actual birth. Having Suyin’s knowledge really helped with our stress.
Suyin made the birthing process as comfortable as that situation can be. We were induced and had multiple appointments for check ups and Suyin was there every time. She was so amazing that when it came time for the epidural and only one person was allowed to be in the room, I kicked my husband out! She really kept me a lot calmer than I would’ve been! Our labour took 40 HOURS and Suyin was there with us the whole time! We couldn’t have done it without her guidance, reassurance, and support!
When we got home, Suyin supported the baby and encouraged us to sleep! As first time parents, the adjustment of bringing a new life home carried a steep learning curve. Suyin helped in any way that she could when she was around. When she wasn’t at the house, she kept in constant contact with us to ensure that we were ok. Not only did she take care of Mommy, Daddy and Baby- she even took care of all the requests of the grandparents as well! Suyin is also an amazing cook. She made well balanced, nourishing meals for our family.
We couldn’t be happier with Suyin. She very easily became a part of our family. She was gentle, caring, educated and SO helpful to us. I don’t think we could have done this without her! Looking back now, her support in the early days was invaluable and we are so glad that she was a part of our journey into parenthood!
Su Yin has a gift for what she does. She is one of the most compassionate people I have ever met. I am truly grateful that I was able to have her support when I came home with my second child. Not only was she able to help me care for my newborn, I was able to care for myself and heal quickly due to her incredible support. Su Yin went above and beyond to make sure my entire family’s needs were met during this wonderful yet challenging time. I am forever grateful for the professional help that Su Yin provided. Her personable care made it feel like she was a long-time friend on a journey with me. I don’t know what I would have done without her. I’d recommend her services in a heartbeat!
We are grateful to have had Su Yin as our postpartum doula and highly recommend her for other families! We are first time parents and were impressed with her training and background as a nurse and midwife. Su Yin helped us with overnights when we first brought our newborn home, it saved us to have trusted help so we could get some rest and recover from the hospital stay. She helped us with “firsts” like bathing and we learned practical things like how to soothe the baby and washing/sterilizing pump and formula equipment just by watching her. It was nice to have someone to ask and rely on so it was less overwhelming to do everything for the first time. I also appreciated her company and conversation during those late night feeds, the tips and reassurance were helpful. She also did some light chores for us overnight and was always proactive to help where she could, not just with baby. Her approach is very warm and practical – she would ask questions to see how I was doing (even before baby was born) and offered suggestions if needed, it struck a good balance of helpful and supportive. She was also very flexible with the hours we needed, helping relieve anxiety over not knowing what we needed beforehand. We also love that she stayed in touch with us after our hours to provide support and sometimes the check-in would come just as we were navigating a new challenge. Su Yin was an essential part of our start in parenthood – she is reliable, practical and caring.
